Who We Are

The Barrie & District Labour Council has 24 affiliates associated with the council. Our mandate is to promote the programs and policies of the Canadian Labour Congress and to support community based organizations.

The Barrie & District Labour Council supports various events throughout Barrie, and the municipalities of Innisfil, New Tecumseth, Bradford West Gwillimbury, Sprinwater, Essa, Base Borden, Adjala-Tosorontio, and Oro-Medonte.

We host the Labour Day Picinic in Sunnidale Park, and host the Day of Mourning at City Hall.

The Barrie & District Labour Council supports the United Way of Simcoe Muskoka and we are allied with Just Recovery Simcoe.

When called upon we organize events in the city, lobby municipal and provincial government on behalf of workers.

The Barrie & District Labour Council plays an integral role in promoting and carrying out the programs and policies of the Canadian Labour Congress, the labour movement and all workers rights.
